Grape Nuts *are* good. As are Frosted Mini Wheats, Peanut Butter Captian Crunch, and Cinnamon Life.
I can’t stands the way that Froot Loops and Apple Jacks tear up the roof of my mouth, though. And I think that bagged version of Lucky Charms, Marshmallow Safari, is vastly superior to the original.
And you forgot about Honey Bunches of Oats. WITH almonds.
I’m with knewman. Grape Nuts rock, especially over strawberry yogurt.
And I must say I’m disappointed that you don’t like Golden Grahams. It’s the Rolex of cereals fer cryin’ out loud.
(Crosses Brittney off the list of people who like really really REALLY good cereal; cancels the Christmas order for Golden Grahams S’Mores; puts her down for a Yard-O-Beef instead.)
It pains me to have to say that the plug is now a part of internet lore — but it is worth pointing out, for those who haven’t already witnessed, a very informative documentary on the dangers of froot loops (which “knewman” so eloquently pointed out) is still available for download in their archives.
of course — if you want the movie instead of the synopsis — you’d have to go here…
oh gawd double comment…the shame!
But Cinnamon Toast Crunch is like, really good.
since I have reached 37 yrs old I have had to cut back on my carb intake so I had to refrain from cereal consumption. by in my day I was a cereal fanatic.
my favorite was Rice Chex.
it was like eating crunchy milk.
my wife on the other hand still hardlines Coco crispies in chocolate milk, with a glass of chocolate milk on the side. Beware young ladies though, my wife hasn’t been able to kick the habit and now is puching 200 lbs!!
You know, I don’t often have much to contribute in the way of conversation, but cereal is something for which I have true passion. I love Fruity Pebbles as much as I deteste their Cocoa siblings. I constantly amaze my boyfriend with the number of bowls I can down in one sitting. This was common habit before I became pregnant, mind you. Of course, back then, it was probably contributed to bud-induced munchies. Anyway. Now, at the ripe old age of 28, I must confess that I make myself read that labels and unless it’s a special treat, I have to choose based on FIBER CONTENT. ‘How lame is that?’ you are thinking. Very. And let me tell you, it has severeley decreased my consumption of Captain Crunch Berries. Lastly, give me boxes of random flakes with fake banana chips and I’m in heaven, I tell you. Surely I’m not the only person too lazy to cut up fresh bananas or they wouldn’t be making these…. right???
Ahh…Brittney…you have yet to discover the joys of mixing cereals. For example, Grape nuts and Cocoa Pebbles…man that is an awesome combo because it takes away the guilt of eating what is essentially chocolate infused sugar, and the opposite consistencies balance out so perfectly…Its like waking up in a harem of all the people you’ve ever wanted to hit with your magic stick! I’m also a little disappointed that Frosted Flakes and Raisin Bran didn’t make the cut. As for the mouth cutters…I don’t have that problem because I’m one of the very rare people who loves soggy cereal and will go so far as to nuke their cereal for a few seconds to help expedite the process. Plus sugar tastes better warm.
You need some Peanut Butter Bumpers now! You’ll never eat Peanut Butter Capt’n Crunch again.
Mathowie also weighs in
Of course, that HTML was supposed to work.
Here’s what I meant to say:
Mathowie also weighs in in favor of Peanut Butter Bumpers.

If anyone lives near Tempe, AZ or Philly, you must try out Cereality. It’s a cafe that only serves cereal - a bit on the cheezy side, but for you cereal lovers out there I’m sure it’s worth a look!

Oh weird. I lived up in Paradise Valley back in 1994, when I was attending Judson School (now defunct). What a novel idea for an establishment, a cereal cafe.
On another note, if I decide to revive my blog any time soon, I will claim the URL gravelandmilk.com. Count me in the Pro Grape Nuts clan.
I even tried to convince myself I liked this bran cereal that looks like hamster droppings, but whose name I forget.
But Grape Nuts, yeahhh…..yumyummmmmeatemup.
Coco Puffs now makes their cereal with 75% less sugar (Splenda) and it is really good. The result is a more chocolatey taste and the after-milk is wonderful
Oh no you dit-int!
Cinnamon Toast Crunch is the bomb, yo.
Cinnamon Toast Crunch makes the roof of my mouth bleed in a way that is only exceeded by the way Captain Crunch cereal makes the roof of my mouth bleed.
I eat boring shit like Corn Flakes and Wheaties and Crispix and mmmmmm… Grape Nuts, god I love those Grape Nuts.. yer making me hungry for some Grape Nuts..
If “sugar” is the first ingredient listed chances are I haven’t eaten it since the third grade.
