Because you appear to have an oval-shaped face, I would recommend a pair of eyeglasses which are more angular (such as a rectangular shape). The ones on the left are the most flattering, however that particular pair seems to be a little large and they’re kind of overwhelming your face. Perhaps something in that shape but a little smaller? I love the reddish brown color though.
The left ones are cute but look too big for your face; the shape of the middle ones is good but I’m not nuts about the colour (I try to stay away from bright colours in glasses anyway, because you know, you’re stuck with them for a long time).
Just because you have an oval face doesn’t mean you have to wear angular glasses. I for instance have an oval face and I CAN’T wear rectangular frames because it always looks too harsh on me.
The frames on the right are my favorites–they don’t dominate your face like the others. With your fair skin and hair and narrow face, dark, heavy frames will tend to overwhelm your features. You might try either some lighter colors, or perhaps even some frameless styles. Just my $.02….
I’d like to recommend you stay away from rectangular frames. They may look right on some folks but they don’t complement the lines of your face (sorry, designer talk). Even if you don’t go for the frames on the right, I’d recommend going for something similar. The shape of your face and the way your hair frames it (or when it’s pulled back, doesn’t frame it) make rectangular frames look “borrowed” on you, like they’re someone else’s glasses that you’re just trying on.
Of course, if you’re going for a major feature instead of a complement, glasses with a heavy contrast to your face would be the way to go. I wouldn’t do it, but that’s just me. I’d rather have the whole package “work” as one system, if that makes sense.
everyone else is an idiot,
the ones on the left are perfect.
the color brightens your face and adds a bit of color to your lips.
black makes you look dead
as for the comments about size…
I don’t know where theses people are coming from, I mean really! so they can visualize glasses in different sizes then impose that mental image on someones face? come on.
oh yea I have made my living doing graphic design (senior designer) for the last 15 years and work on global brands so you got to trust me on this, I study these things.
The ones on the left seem to change the shape of your face…you have a lovely oval face, and these frames seem chunky…they are too distracting. The other two seem to flatter the curves of your face better. Just some thoughts! :)
I like the ones on the right. Seem to be the most flattering of the lot. Ultimately though Erat’s comment makes the most sense. You have a unique face, thank god!
After glancing at the series of pics for all of 3 seconds, I would have to say I like the ones on the right. The ones in the middle are too librarian. Left is OK, too, just to make the rest of these commenters not flip the fuck out.
DESIGN SCHOOL!! P-LEASE!!
any one who learns how to design from wanna be design teachers, needs to rethink thier approch!
I learn about design from life,
I try everything and see what people spark to. Ultimately if Brittney has a recessive personality, she should pick black frames. But from reading her column all these days, I think she is more exrtaverted, and the brighter frames would get her more attention. If she was a mousey book worm who liked to blend in, dark frames would let her do that. But anyone who would put a picture of themselves in a bikini (tasteful) on their web page obviously doesn’t mind if people see her. I personaly couldn’t look at a picture of myself in a swim suit much less display one to the world. That is why I love the web girl Brittney, she shares herself with us pathetic souls who are afraid to.
p.s. don’t try to sound smart by using big words if you don’t have any logic to back them up. you just appear shallow and pretentious.
If you’re gonna choose one of these, definitely go with the ones on the Right. They are the least intrusive, go well with the shape of your face, and frankly, you look pretty damn hot in them! Straight fantasy girl hot.
Next time you feel the need to invalidate everyone else’s opinion by throwing around credentials and calling us all “idiots,” think again. Quality design work and quality design THOUGHT speaks for itself. When someone throws around their credentials and calls the “competition” idiots, folks like me begin to question the designer.
Just a friendly tid bit of information from one designer to another.
I was thinking about this thread over the weekend, and especially the discussion of our host’s facial features. It struck me that Brittney has very classical features, worthy of Renaissance painters. Check out this link to see what I’m talking about. Botticelli, in particular, created stunning portraits of women who look remarkably like Brittney. His The Birth of Venus, made famous in part by Adobe, Inc. as the logo for Illustrator, could almost be a picture of Brittney. Putting heavy, rectangular frames on such a face borders on sacrilege.
I think you should go with some like the ones on the left. However, I think that they should be smaller. Also all three of those glasses make you look so unhappy. Perhaps you should keep looking until you find the ones that make you smile.

I like the ones on the left.
Yup: the one’s on the left are awesome.
Since you asked…

Good luck! Glasses shopping is fun!
I think the ones on the right are nice.

I don’t think I’ll pick any of these, however, I’ve never had to chose frames in my life, so I have no idea what I’m doing.
I think I may go for something rectangular, smaller and black. I love chunky glasses and cateye glasses but they seem to take over my face.
The ones on the right. Definitely.

Add my vote for the ones on the right.

Just my opinion.
I go with meg here. Take the ones on the left, but a tad smaller.

Global brands do not equal Brittney’s Face.
Go back to design school… Here’s something to study: GESTALT.
‘Nuff said…

the ones in the MIDDLE. definitely.
I too am shopping for new glasses, and I truly hate it. HATE it.
Get contacts! They freakin’ rule like nothing else.
Or, the ones on the left…

I guess I can see that. Kind of a “teacher’s gonna spank” thing going on.
Dear, sweet Bart…

(Gestalt is a big word? Wow. I had no idea.)
Britta.. Honestly, I don’t like the left ones much AT ALL! I honestly think you could find a different frame that would accentuate your beaty.
P.S. I got me a mofo cable modem @ home w/ my new mofo computer and my new mofo DVR system. I’m hi-tech now babe
because all you’ve ever wanted is to accentuate your beaty!
*beauty, your beauty!
The one on the far right is (by far) the best one. Glasses = sexiness!

But then again, I’m kind of funny that way.
