Two column layouts are always better than three IMO. Form follows function, that kind of thing. I can’t think of very many sites that actually utilize three columns effectively (Apple’s online store seems to do this, but I can’t think of any others at the moment).
I think you’re better off with two. It definitely makes blogs more readable.
I agree–this is much friendlier. I still think there needs to be more contrast between the type and the background, however. And would it be possible to change the [h2] style to bold? The reversed roman is just too frail against the background rules.
