All of the sudden and for no apparent reason Tootie began barking loudly and constantly. It quickly became very annoying. So, the boyfriend walked with her outside. She took three steps and stared at the trash can. And that was it, she turned around to go back inside.
So far as we know she was barking specifically in order to go look at the garbage.

I do that, too.
Alan Thicke wrote the Diff’rent Strokes theme song. I don’t know about “As Long As We Got Each Other”
Like Brian, I also want to comment on your lil’ nugget o’ whatever on your sidebar. :)
I’m showing my age here, but you may or may not recall the classic situation comedy All in the Family.” That theme song, “Those Were the Days,” was, in point of fact, sung by the show’s two big stars: Carroll O’Connor and Jean Stapleton. :)
I always thought that Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams sang “Making Our Dreams Come True,” the theme song for Laverne and Shirley. However, from what I understand someone named Cindy Grecco sang that one.
“Schlemiel, schlimazel, hasenpfeffer incorporated!”

obviously your dog was mad at the garbage can because it was actually his dog father reincarnated as a trash can. His father was being punished for knocking over too many garbage cans as a teenage dog.
“woof woof woof”
babelfish translates
into
“hey dumbass, next time you’ll think twice before you ruin the kitchen floor!”
So did MBB and MG not sing the theme song? I totally thought they did.
Pippin attacked an orange bag of trash the delinquents had accumulated in the ‘hood the other day. It was hilarious. He calmly walked off afterwards like he knew it was a brightly colored bag of trash all along!
Perhaps your house is haunted by the ghost of a garbage man.
