I worked as an import mechanic for years. I got to where I could tell a car’s country of origin by a quick glance under the hood. As Gestalt-influenced design, German engineering is unsurpassed, even by the Japanese. Every internal component is a thing of beauty, even if it’s designed to spend its entire life hidden from view. German tools are the same way–gawdawful expensive, but boy, are they a delight to use.
