Okay, so, I have curly hair. You might already know this. It’s more wavy, really, and I say that because "wavy" is a simple compromise. The truth is that my hair is about fourteen different textures. It is absolutely stick straight in spots, like at my nape and at my ears. But on top, where it is shorter, I get tight corkscrew curls. Now, I know that the length of the lock determines its curliness, due to weight, but no matter how short my various hairs are, always the same spots won’t curl up.
Any of you other curly-haired people have this problem? I guess it is not a problem, really, just frustrating for me. I try to check out other curly heads, but can’t get too close up without looking suspect. Most people seem to have the same size curls throughout.
Am I the only one who has multiple personality hair?

My hair isn’t inconsistently wavy or curly but it lays flat in weird spots and no amount of Elmers Glue can get them to stand up. Lots of guys have flat spots on the back of their head, but I have one right up front. Drives me up the fucking wall. And where it’s typically flat on the back, some parts stick straight up (on only one side, nonetheless).
Hair drives me nuts.

I have the same issue, plus a big ‘ol cowlick in the front. I use a lighter weight gel all over first, and then Loreal “Grab” to help curl up the straight spots and define the curly spots, so it doesn’t all look like a fuzzball. Problem is, the only place I can find “Grab” now is K-mart. For some reason, Kroger, Wal-Mart, & Target aren’t carrying it anymore, which leads me to believe they will discontinue it soon and I will be screwed.
My hair is way curly. A Hairdresser told me a few years ago to let it do what it wanted to and only brush it before I washed it.
I look like a match many days.

i have long curly hair, and it is pretty uniform, provided i comb it in the morning. it has multiple manifestations if i don’t.
I have the exact problem. I have poker straight areas around the nape of my neck and ears. No amount of product (no matter how expensive) makes them curly. Honestly, i just ignore it. Since I also have long hair, it pretty much gets covered up by the curly parts.
Mine is straight underneath. Totally weird.
I have the opposite problem, in a way. If pressed, I tell people I have straight hair, but to actually get it all straight these days, I have to blow dry or flat iron it.
Weird, random areas are curly. Usually more on the left side of my head than on the right. And stick straight underneath, so I can’t even get away with wearing it wavy.
Well, considering my hair was straight until I was two and then it just decided to go corkscrew curly for the heck of it, I deal with this daily. I have hair that is straight underneath and it stinks because my hair is cut in a short, bouncy style. So I just cut the straight pieces to the length of the curls so it doesn’t look so dumb. (Although, I doubt my hairdresser would be happy if she knew that I did that.)
