It’s actually raining. It hasn’t rained here in so long that I sort of forgot what the droplets felt like on my skin. I opened the door to let the dogs out when I saw that the porch steps were slick and wet, a sight I hadn’t seen in a while. I stepped out to see light drizzle coating the dry, brown shards of crunchy grass. It felt cool and wonderful and brand new.

I know, isn’t it awesome?
I feel like I’m being rewarded for my laziness. Karsten usually waters the garden in the mornings during the week, and I take over and water on the weekends. Well, yesterday since I was feeling pretty crummy, I decided to just let the plants tough it out without water. Of course, it turned out to be the hottest day this year and I felt bad for subjecting them to that without a good watering, but then I woke up this morning and it’s raining! Ergo, if I am lazy, things work out fine anyway.
It was so surprising. We’ve been talking about the lack of rain for a while, but getting a bit was more of a shock than I would have thought.
Yep, we were just talking about the “Great Drought of Ought-Seven” last night. Of course, the day it finally rained was Busy Girl’s first day at camp.
I got totally drenched in the storm today. I was on my motorcycle around Hillsboro Village when the rain started. It was a long and wet (not to mention extremely dangerous) ride back to Inglewood.
Yearrrrg… just days before my scooter cover arrives, too (and days after The Edict from The Condo Assoc. FORBIDDING the parking of scooters in the breezeways)!
Can’t catch a break, y’all.
.
In the ‘Boro, it rained for all of two minutes. Then the ol’Sun came back out and ‘vaporated it all.
I want…. Seattle.
