I’m taking my fat, racist, bigoted, stupid, moronic, Christ-posing, immature, martyr ass to Chattanooga for four days. Maybe I’ll become more enlightened while away.
Thanks for all the nice emails. I will be able to write you back once I’m back in town. The flood of support was highly needed and greatly appreciated.
Sooo, I quit my job today. I just tried to go in and see if any comments at the work blog needed to be pulled out of Akismet purgatory, only to discover the lock has been changed. To be expected, I guess, but still such a weird feeling to be an outsider to a site I ran for more than two years. Anyway, these links are more for me than you, but here’s some reaction to my resignation today:
P.S. I’ve gotten a ton of really nice emails today, many that I haven’t opened yet. I promise to write you all back very soon, since I have some free time. However, my favorite one so far has been from a PR person who said, basically, "Sorry you stepped down, but here’s my press release anyway." Hooboy, it takes all kinds.
At the end of this piece I quote someone who says of the buyout of the Nashville Predators by Jim Bastillie, "This is the biggest scam pulled on Nashville by a Canadian since Shania Twain’s career."* When I finished up I looked at the guy running prompter, and I said, "What did you think about that one?" He said, "That should raise a few eyebrows." I immediately turned to my left and heard the camera guy say into his headset, "Yep, that’s what she said."

Two bunnies playing an intricate game of leap frog in the neighbor’s front yard. My dogs just watched, neither barking, which is not their typical reaction to frolicking rabbits. I had to stop watching them to continue getting ready for work, for all I know they are still out there hopping over one another.
