“4. The absolute destruction of the music business as we once knew it.”
Puh-leeeze!!! Is there anyone over the age of 12 who isn’t sick to death of this old chestnut? Every new technology that’s come along in my lifetime (and before) has been heralded as “the death of the music industry.” I have many friends who are musicians and all struggle to make a living at it. But they’ve also all embraced the internet as a means to cultivate an audience and most have turned it into a nice revenue stream. The assholes who are still singing that old tune about the destruction of the music biz are typically millionaires who, themselves, are largely responsible for for any woes, either real or perceived, that the industry may have. Gimmie a fuckin’ break with this shit. Anyone who actually buys this claim is delusional. And anyone who makes this claim has zero credibility so I immediately dismiss anything else they have to say.

[I yield the remained of my time on the soapbox.]
For the record, I’m with you. I shook my head at the entire post.
