We need to be careful about opening up the gates to this kind of scrutiny. First Amendment and all that. Fighting animals for fun and profit is a hideous thing, but if these kinds of magazines are banned, others (with perhaps less objectionable material IMHO) will soon follow.
Imagine Mormons working to ban Cigar Aficionado and Wine Spectator, or PETA trying to shut down Field & Stream and Guns & Ammo, or xenophobes trying to kill Q-News and Tikkun. Imagine NOW and other feminist organizations fighting to ban just about every women’s magazine in existence (Vogue, Glamour, etc.). Sounds silly, but give them any kind of legal precedent and they may try.
