I went to the gym today on my lunch break, began lifting weights, then about 20 minutes into it had to make a break for the locker room for a puke. I still feel like ass.

After weeding and mulching I decided to try to ride the bike for awhile. I got about three blocks away and came home. I didn’t puke, but sure feel like ass.
Don’t tell anyone, but I had a nice moment in the breezy sunshine when Silent All These Years came on the mp3 player. You know I wouldn’t admit that to anyone but you.
wow. they have roller coasters at your gym?
Were you downtown??? Trust me, I have puked plenty o’ times. Even in races. Super embaressing.
I too (like Jag) went biking the other day..after 15 minutes, and a large hill, i lost it, upped the chuck..it was really really sad. I feel your pain..
it’s not uncommon for me to hug the porcelain throne after my leg workout. i guess they’re such a large muscle group that an intense workout of them is just more than my body can handle…
…but man do I hate throwing up!
Since I didn’t throw up again and managed to keep down a PB & J dinner, I guess I’m going to have to go with “Fatass First Timer Syndrome.” I’ve really gotten out of the habit of working out in a big way, but I’ve never spent much time on weights. I’m almost 30, and my weight continues to climb, so I know I’m going to have to do both cardio and strength training just about every day. (Well, one or the other. I wouldn’t lift weights every day.) Plus, strength training helps your bones stay strong and your mind stay sharp, blah blah blah. So, I just up and decided to do it. Running every other day, walking and weight lifting the other days, then Sunday off. Thing is, I know I have to “lift to exhaustion” to see the best results, so that is what I was doing yesterday. With my legs, like jeffrey.
So, it was an overexertion puke. How embarrassing.
congrats on the complete fitness training commitment! (complete meaning both strength and cardio training)
if ya didn’t know, I’m a personal trainer at a gym in mt. juliet…if ya have any questions, want some pointers, or whatever else, i’d be glad to be of any assistance that I can.
I’m not a doctor, but I have stayed at a Holiday Inn, and I’m thinking that if you are puking, perhaps you might want to back off the training regimen just a touch.
