You suck. You suck the suck of a million vacuum cleaners. You spit out at me entries written in October of last year. You feed me blog posts from a blog you haven’t been aggregating for months all at once, filling my folder with unread entries from weeks and weeks ago. You seem to have no rhyme to your reason. You just present blog postings all willy-nilly, as if it is not your JOB to display information in a logical manner.
I never switched to Google Reader because I’d filled you so full of all my reads. Well, the jig is up. I will be moving to Google Reader if it takes me two weeks. And then I will be through with you.
And don’t call me up two weeks later talking about wanting to show me movie listings or dinner plans. I’ve already dropped you, zero, now I’m getting with a hero.
This is it,
Brittney

I’ve been using Google Reader since January and love it. The one frustration I have is that, ironically, there is no search feature.
Be sure and get the “next” bookmarklet for your toolbar. It takes you directly to the next unread post in your Google Reader queue — directly to the post itself, not the RSS feed — and so it’s a great way to surf through blogs in their natural habitat when you have the time. (You can always use the actual Google Reader page when you don’t have the time, of course.)
Enjoyed your presentation at BarCamp; I summarized some of your points and sent them out in an e-mail to some of the community bloggers who have started this month at the Times-Gazette web site.
wow. ironic how I read this on my bloglines reader.
same idiosyncrasies happen to me. I thought it was user-error. now I see the light. I can’t believe I allowed a server-based aggregation system to trump my belief in myself. I feel so …interfaced.
“You spit out at me entries written in October of last year”
Probably because the blog you’re reading updated it’s software package. At least, that’s when it does it for me. Or it’s usually the same blogs doing it because there is an issue with their RSS feed.
BTW, to switch to google, you should be able to export your files by going to bloglines and hitting additional features/export subscriptions. Should take just a few minutes.
Moving to Google Reader should take not very long at all. I think that you will like it.
Now that you are bringing your laptop to work, and you never have to be without it, you might consider using a non-browser-based feed reader on your Macbook.

Could you do me a favor?
Could you tell me the feeds that were causing the problem? I’m specificaly interested in knowing whether your problem was site-wide or limited to a specific set of feeds.
Feel free to contact me directly or find me in the Bloglines Forums.

Note to self: never get dumped by Brittney
It’s an easy switch — it doesn’t take weeks, thanks to a simple export/import. I still miss a few things about bloglines, but the service has atrophied and greader is mostly better.
Correct. Import OPML takes only a moment.
Don’t be afraid. If it’s time to make the switch, then switch. I’ll keep you posted on our redesign.
