I fell out of bed this morning and hit my armpit on a tall wicker hamper. Yesterday I mangled the inside of my mouth when my arm slipped while brushing my teeth. My friend says I should wear a helmet while at home, but I’m thinking the headgear should be a full-time precaution.

With all that wicker lurking, you must be terrified of Pier 1.
At least you fared a little better than the BF did when he fell out of bed many, many years ago.
oh, that was terrible. I lost a tooth on one of these. I remember blood running down the ramp and that it hurt.

How is that possible?! Man it must really have hurt! Maybe sleeping on the floor might help.
How is it possible? I was reaching to hit snooze on my alarm which sits on a table across from the end of the bed. I sort of fell backward to go back to sleep, but fell back onto the edge of the bed, at which time I slid off and hit the floor.
I think you’re SOL no matter what. I helmet is not going to protect the soft, mushy innards of your skull when you’re trying to perforate your oral tissues with a toothbrush.
Just to make you feel better, I once cracked a front tooth brushing my teeth. I accidentally bit the brush. According to the dentist, I have “a very strong bite.” I was sure he wouldn’t believe how it happened.
