I got myself a Tumblr log. I like it.

Where Did the Victim Blaming Run Off To?
October 25th, 2007 — Weblogs, Work Related
I’ve been looking all over for posts from far-right-wing bloggers who are admonishing the citizens of San Diego for daring to live in a place susceptible to natural disasters. You know, something along the lines of, “They should know better than to live where a natural disaster might occur, but they are too lazy to figure out how to lift themselves up by their bootstraps and get out of that place. They have no one to blame but themselves.” Or, “Don’t the citizens of San Diego know they constantly live on the brink of disaster because their houses are close to wooded areas that are often prone to wildfires?” Alas, I cannot find them.

“Look at our print ads online!”: Yeah, I’ll get right on that.
Don’t Miss Out on the Debauchery

So, I’m having a birthday/going away party (for myself! at 6 p.m. on Sunday! at La Paz in Green Hills!), and you should have gotten an invitation last Friday. However, I was thinking that I just used my Gmail address book to import contacts into Evite, and what if there is a friend I don’t email! And there are some. There are several lovely ladies from the bistro where I once worked that I would love to invite. Alas, I don’t know their email addresses.
Anyway, all that was to say that if you want to come to my birthday/going away party, and you didn’t get an invitation, email me.
To the Pasta Place with Pea

Today Shauna and Miss Pea took me out for lunch. It was such fun. Miss Pea was feeling a little fussy (”Hold me, Mama,” followed immediately by, “Put me in the chair, Mama.”), but she is still SO GOOD compared to most kids her age that I once waited on. Hardly any whining, not a single cry or tear. She just played with the pepper grinder until her “spaketti” was nicely dusted with black specks.
Her mother is fine company as well.
I will miss friendly lunches with my local blogger friends.

You can malign them as boring minutiae of some housewife’s life, or you can deride them with demeaning terms like “mommy blogger,” but then you read something like this, and you know that - painfully personal minutiae or not - you are in the presence of art.

Glenn Beck is a full fledged idiot: ““I think there is a handful of people who hate America. Unfortunately for them, a lot of them are losing their homes in a forest fire today.”
